Setting rent

Questions to help you research a rent and test it against a rental plan.

Updated October 2, 2026

What Hovis can help with

Hovis can explain how rent affects cash flow and which property details matter when you compare rentals. It can help you organize your research, but it cannot know the current rent for a specific home unless you provide reliable local information.

Questions to ask Hovis

  • How much should I ask for rent in my market?
  • How do I compare rents for similar homes?
  • How do I analyze a rental property?
  • How does a different rent change this deal's cash flow?
  • How do I raise rent for an existing tenant?

Get a better answer

  • Give Hovis the city or neighborhood, property type, bedrooms, bathrooms, size and condition.
  • Bring recent rent comparisons and the expenses you expect. Do not use an unsupported rent guess.
  • Use Analyze a deal with the rent you researched to see how it changes the result.
